Marysville Mustangs finish 3rd

The Marysville Mustangs 12U baseball team with Camano Island players Riley Kluin, Jayson Withers, and Wyatt Jeans finished up their summer ball league with a third place finish in the Three Earls of Everett II Tournament last weekend.

They lost their first pool game to Klouters 3-5, but then went on to beat Graham Crushers 1- 0 and the Scorpions 13-1 to finish first in their pool. Unfortunately, they had to meet Klouters in the semifinal game and lost again to them 0-4.

Riley Kluin pitched the maximum eight innings allowed during the tournament, pitching in each of the four games and had 13 strike-outs, only allowing five hits (three of them unearned) which resulted in two unearned runs.

Jayson Withers will long remember having his first over-the-fence home run in the Cle Elum tournament and Wyatt Jeans was given the nickname "Jeter" by his teammates for his stellar job at shortstop, second and third bases.

The boys ended up with a first, second and third places in three tournaments.
