Scholarships for adults, deadline is Aug. 31
The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation now has the following community scholarships available for adults to help pay for college, workshops, or other educational courses. All applications must be delivered or postmarked on or before August 31.
Those eligible must be age 21 or over and current Stanwood-Camano residents or former graduates from Stanwood or Lincoln Hill High Schools. Applications are available at www. s-ccs.org (click on "Adult Scholarships").
• Gladys Heintz Memorial Scholarship, unrestricted.
• Peebler Caregiver Scholarship, in honor of Kathy Peebler, for care-giving of elderly including (but not limited to) nursing, medicine, nurse's aid, and home health care.
• Delores Haglund Jones Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by the Stanwood Democrats, for a single parent needing training/education assistance to compete in today's workforce.
• Renee Marquette Memorial Scholarship, for women needing assistance in meeting their goals in the visual or written arts.
• Hallie Price Visual Arts Fund, for residents of Snohomish or Island counties with demonstrated artistic ability and commitment in the area of visual arts (including interior design, landscape architecture, painting, photography, pottery or sculpture).
