Man uses vehicle in assault
Stanwood Police responded to the following calls last week:
• On Aug. 4, a 27-yearold Camano Island man in the 26600 block of 72nd Avenue NW was booked into jail for second degree assault. His passenger, a 17-year old Camano Island male, is being referred for fourth degree assault. The man drove towards the victim who was on foot and opened his door, knocking him to the ground. The passenger then jumped out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim while he was on the ground.
• Some energy drinks and loose change were stolen in a burglary of a business in the 7200 block of 267th Street NW on Aug. 1.
• A 22-year-old Monroe man was referred Aug. 1 for failing to transfer a vehicle title, in the 7300 block of Pioneer Hwy.
• A 15-year-old Stanwood teen was referred for shoplifting (third degree theft) in the 26600 block of 72nd Avenue NW on Aug. 3.
• On Aug. 3, a vehicle lost a tie rod and hit a guardrail in the 8700 block of SR 532. The driver was not injured.
• A resident of the 27100 block of 101st Avenue NW reported harassment Aug. 4 and an investigation continues.
• A driver backing out of a parking space in the 8800 block of 271st Street NW hit a parked car on Aug. 4 and was cited for not having a valid operator's license.
• A GPS receiver was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 7300 block of Pioneer Highway on Aug. 4.
• Graffiti was painted on a school in the 27900 block of 68th Avenue NW Aug. 6.
• Two Stanwood teens, a 12-year-old and a 15- year-old, are being referred for shoplifting in the 26600 block of 72nd Avenue NW, Aug. 6.
• On Aug. 6, a wallet with miscellaneous credit and debit cards was found in the 8700 block of 271st St NW and turned into police department.
•Three juvenile females assaulted each other in the 8700 block of 271st Street NW on Aug. 6. All three were released at location.
