Coffee stand theft
Burglars were looking for more than a tall espresso during a break-in at Daily Dose coffee stand last Saturday night.
Shawnda Sherwood, owner of the stand located near Bartell's Drug Store on 267th Street NW, said a worker noticed the building was broken into and notified police.
"They went through the drawers, made a mess and opened the fridge," said Sherwood. "They busted the latch on the door and left it open."
According to Sherwood, thieves made off with Red Bull energy drinks as well as a small amount of cash.
This is the first break-in since Sherwood has owned the stand, she said.
Sherwood is still in the process of contacting her insurance company and said she is not certain of the total loss.
Anyone who might have information about the crime should call the police at 629-4555, she said.
"I think it's important to get the word out to other coffee stands," said Sherwood. "We need to protect our little town."
The case remains under investigation, said a Stanwood Police Department spokesman.
