Garden party was a big success

Dear Editor:

The Whidbey Camano Land Trust thanks all the Camano and Stanwood folks who helped make our garden party and art auction such a wonderful success.

We received stellar support in displaying the beautiful plein air art from Gayle Picken and Gallery by the Bay.

Randy Heagle and the Windermere office provided tables and chairs and tents. The Camano Plaza IGA staff was a joy to work with on food and drink.

Lisa and Jim made sure that Four Springs Preserve was perfectly beautiful. Kathryn Murray's beautiful harp music set a perfect tone.

We received wonderful help from Anne Taylor, Pat Stolarski, Tara Jermasek, members of FOCIP, and John Ringen. Our board members on Camano, Ivan Miller and Barbara Libby came with spouses to give hours of assistance.

Many hands made the work much easier. Thanks to all who helped spread the word including Roy Lesher and the community e-newsletter, the Stanwood/Camano NEWS, and those many places that posted flyers and cards.

It was our first effort on such a large, collaborative event. Thanks to wonderful help and a spirit of community, more people have learned about land conservation and know how beautiful protected land is.

Thank you all for making that day a memorable one, the perfect beginning to the Land Trust's 25th anniversary celebration.

A toast to the land and the community that cares for it.

Elizabeth Guss Whidbey Camano Land Trust
