Cash for clunkers environmentally not good
Dear Editor:
Gee, is this Wonderland and I'm Alice?
What a world when Clunkers for Dollars demands that trade-in cars have water and acid flushed through their gas tanks to ensure they'll never operate again!
I must have been mistaken when I heard this plan was to get "polluters" off the road to save the environment.
Guess the clunkers, now made into useless masses of metal, glass, plastic and whatever else now just go into our landfills.
Of course, we've capped all our oil, which has been used successfully up to now and can be retrieved safely from the environment.
In our upside-down world, we can fill up that fuel tank with a product meant to eat: corn.
Our country's corn, by the way, can't re-seed itself thanks to our mad scientists rendering it sterile.
That also fits in nicely with disregard for any common sense, don't you think?
I expect the Mad Hatter to hop by any minute now.
