Chief Ganz to give update

Terry's Corner Fire Jets and Camano Island Fire and Rescue will meet 6 p.m., Tues., Aug 11, at 79 Utsalady Rd., on Camano Island. At 6:30 p.m. Chief Ganz will give an update on the new Madrona station, the Terry's Corner remodel and the levies.

Budbill to speak about human rights Bridget Budbill, a second-year University of Oregon law student, will discuss war crimes, human rights and international law at 7 p.m., Wed, Aug. 12 at the Camano Multipurpose building, 141 East Camano Dr.

Country Club women hold lunch The monthly luncheon of Camano Country Club's Women's Club is Mon., Aug. 10, 10 a.m. "Flower pounding" will be presented by Opal Cooke. Bridge will follow at 12:30 p.m.

Kids art camp adds sessions John and Jenna Delzell will offer a four-day camp session for young artists at John's studio at 2177 Highland Drive on Camano Island. FOCIP work party at state parks Friends of Camano Island Parks (FOCIP) volunteers will host a work party at Camano Island state parks next week. Ladies Aid community picnic Sunday The Utsalady Ladies Aid picnic at noon, Sun., Aug. 9, will include a barbacue and raffle. It will be held in the Ladies Aid building, 78 E. Utsalady Rd. on Camano Island. Bring a potluck dish.

Camano Chapel summer camp Camano Chapel invites all incoming sixth to eighth grade to camp at Moran State Park on Orcas Island, Aug. 10-15. Information and consent forms are available at www.eyp7.org.

Yacht club cancels next week's brunch The Camano Island Yacht Club Sunday brunch on Aug. 9 has been cancelled. Brunches will resume in September.

Summer reading grand finale Camano Island Library will host Dino O'Dell and the Veloci- Rappers at 1 p.m. Fri. Aug. 7 for a summer reading grand finale. There will be drawings for reading prizes.

AARP safe driving class August 7 There will be an AARP safe driving class Fri., Aug. 7 at the Camano Senior and Community Center, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Calling all dirty dogs to CASA C.A.S.A. will host its annual dog wash at the shelter Sat., Aug. 15, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m..

South End String Band at car show The collectors car show and flea market will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Camano Senior and Community Center. Download the form to register cars or rent space at camanocenter.org.
