Davis Place holds guitar hero battle
Davis Place, next door to the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center, will be holding a Guitar Hero Battle Fri., Aug. 14, 7-9 p.m. Registration is free and will end at 7:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. Summer reading extravaganza
Stanwood Library's summer reading extravaganza is set for Sat, Aug 8, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Heritage Park in Stanwood. The allages party includes with tie-dying, water games and popsicles. Bring a T-shirt to tie-dye and a lunch for the picnic.
Pregnancy and childbirth course
Skagit Valley Hospital offers a six-week course for expectant parents. There is a fee. Medical coupons are accepted, but must be submitted two weeks before the class begins. A seven-week option includes breastfeeding and a local pediatrician to discuss your baby's first three months for an additional fee (not covered by medical coupons.) Pre-register by calling 629-6481.
Knitters Guild sets birthday picnic
