Local boys compete at lacrosse nationals

Three local lacrosse players joined Team Washi ngton at the U.S. Lacrosse National Championships for under 15 held July 8 to 10 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Frank Medlicott, 15, of Stanwood, Connor Merritt, 15, of Stanwood, and Griffin Van Baush, 14, of Anacortes, play on the Stanwood lacrosse team.

Team Washington was eliminated in the quarterfinals, after losing to Blackwolf Select, 3 to 19, and Jersey Ridgers 10 to 12.

Team Washington had exited the pool rounds with two wins and one loss. They beat Fighting 4 Lacrosse 7 to 4 and Creeks Lacrosse 8 to 5, and then lost to Next Level Lacrosse 2 to 12.
