Be part of the solution
Dear Editor:
I have had the privilege to live in Stanwood 14 years.
My oldest daughter graduated from SHS and my middle daughter is at PSMS. My son is at TCE.
We all know that our schools are suffering financially. Since I am trying to teach my kids to be a part of the solution, I have a few suggestions on how we all can help the schools and the community:
• Cut the Boxed Tops for Education of products that you use and give them to your favorite school. Each one is worth 10 cents. Also peel off the Campbell Soup labels; they are worth money to our schools.
• When you are out shopping, buy a few extra school supplies to donate. Ask a teacher or the office staff what they need, maybe some tape, staples, or new playground equipment. Just ask, maybe you can help, or know someone who can.
• If you see a drop-off box for donations, drop something in.
I challenge the residents of Stanwood to show what it means to invest in our future.
