Olson & Ohlson loses headship; closing store
Dear Editor: On April 17, the community of Stanwood lost a great friend. Elaine Berg (Ohlson), owner of Olson & Ohlson Antiques brought people together and taught many of us the importance of community. She was our fearless leader, a dispenser of sage advice, always good for a laugh and reminded us to have faith in ourselves and others. Full Story
No wall of shame after dousing flames
Dear Editor: Around 11:30 p.m. I noticed flames from burning driftwood just 25 feet from my cabin and a neighbor's home. Over an hour earlier, I had completely put out a small contained fire and was ready to fall asleep. Apparently, the wind had blown sparks under the nearby brush and driftwood and a roaring blaze was out of control. Full Story
