Though rain seems synonymous with fairs in the Pacific Northwest, the Silvana Fair takes pride in the fact it has never been rained on. Saturday was no exemption to that record, when temperatures soared into the high 80s during the 62nd annual event. All activities took place at the Viking Hall on Pioneer Highway in Silvana and on the adjacent fields. Every child who entered an exhibit or animal here got a ribbon at the free community fair. The Stanwood-Camano Community Fair takes place this weekend. See supplement inside.
