Funds for vets on Camano Island
The Island County Veterans Assistance Fund provides limited emergency assistance to eligible veterans and their dependents, according to Veterans Services Coordinator Gerald Pfannenstiel. The goal is to help veterans through a temporary financial hardship — be it a voucher system or guidance to other resources. Full Story
Assessment heads to commissioners
This week, the Board of Island County Commissioners will receive an assessment proposal from the Whidbey Island and Snohomish conservation districts. Conservation districts, non-regulatory state agencies, were formed to address the need for resource conservation, said Bobbi Lindemulder, acting district manager of Snohomish Conservation District.
