100 YEARS AGO (1909) July 20, Emil Reichlin was born in Switzerland, and came to Stanwood later, where he worked for 55 years on the Dettling Dairy Farm. Rev. and Mrs. Baalson have been pastoring Peace Lutheran Church in Silvana for the past two years (Karsten wrote "Karsten's Kronikles, Days of Yore and More or Less" in 1997). Full Story
New counselor in town
Ed Ferrigan, M.A., has announced he is now open for new clients. Ferrigan moved to the Stanwood area two years ago has been practicing body-centered psychotherapy for more than 15 years. He has worked with individuals and couples of all ages. Full Story

A new citizen
A Camano resident since 2006, Karin Rainier became a U.S. citizen on July 4 at a ceremony at Seattle Center when she was one of 508 who took the oath. For the ceremony, Karin wore this traditional Swedish costume of county Dalarna, in the Rattvik area in Sweden, north of Stockholm. It is her mother's costume, made in 1930. Karin came to Iowa in 1998, to Washington state in 1999. Full Story

Leo
Leo was brought into CASA as a stray. He was in fairly poor condition when he arrived, his coat was pretty matted and he had an abscess on his side. Leo has since had all his medical needs taken care of. He is a sweet boy that likes to be around his humans, but is a bit leery. He is terrified of small children, but does fine with teenagers. Vows exchanged
Angela Marie Caron and Jacob Frank Galliway exchanged wedding vows June 24 at the Canterbury Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nev. Rev. Richard Lee Conrad performed the ceremony. White Christmas lights decorated flowers in the chapel. The bride chose a white haltertop gown with silver, white and clear beads and sequins on the neckline. She wore ballet flats for the ceremony. Her veil was unadorned, and she carried white daisies, white carnations, white irises and green buds. Her jewelry was a journey diamond necklace and earring set. The groom was attired in a black, two-button tuxedo, with a silver button up vest and a silver tie. A dinner reception followed at Steak Camelot in the Excalibur Hotel, where a chocolate mousse was the couple's choice for a wedding cake. The couple's parents are Kathleen Marie Caron of Tiverton, Rhode Island and Roland Bibeault of Tampa, FL, Jeanne and Frank Galliway of Leavenworth. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Healthcare Training and Staffing Services in Fall River, Mass., with a medical office specialist certification. The groom is a 2001 graduate of Lakewood High School, and is employed at Skills, Inc. "We met Sept. 1, 2006 on America Online in the Christian chatroom, and enjoy going to the casino and having fish and chips together. We are each other's soul mate and best friends. We were both born three months early." The couple is at home in Stanwood. Full Story
