County purchases waterfront property
Island County is in the process of purchasing some Camano Island waterfront property. The county signed a sale and purchase agreement for the Hieb property last December, said John Dean, Island County commissioner. The property, also referred to as the Henry Lane property, is between Camano City and Onamac. Full Story
First septic inspection date passes
Around the July 1 deadline, inspection reports for pressure-involved septic systems have been flowing into Island County. The county is not using heavy-handed means to enforce the new requirement, said Aaron Henderson, county environmental health director. Instead, they will reach out to those who haven't turned in septic inspections yet. Full Story
