Debate on mini cities drags on
The road to a Snohomish County Council decision on fully-contained communities (FCC) hasn't ended yet. The elimination or revision of the mini-city code has been added into a long list of other possible changes the council is considering under the title of Docket XIII. Full Story

Tana Loop-Ruyle and Ron Ruyle help customers Peggy Miller, of Puyallup, and her daughter, Veronica Winthrop, who lives on Camano Island, at Art by the Bay on Saturday. The jewelry artist lives in Stanwood. Local man shot and killed by Everett police
The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) continues to investigate an Everett Police officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of Niles Leo Meservey, 51, of Stanwood, last month. Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said officers were called to the 6700 block of Evergreen Way about 11:30 p.m. Full Story
Snohomish Conservation District assessment now in SnoCo's hands
The Snohomish Conservation District is one step closer to a stable funding source. The district, a non-regulatory sub-unit of the state government, requested that the Snohomish County Council pass an annual property tax assessment of $5 plus .05 cents per acre for a five-year period starting in 2010.
