Women's Republican Club home tour The 31st annual Home Tour is July 11, sponsored by the Camano Island Women's Republican Club. Money raised from the fivehome tour supports the scholarship the club gives each year to a qualifying Stanwood High School senior. Women's club picnic at Cama Beach The Camano Country Club's Women's Club is having a picnic at Cama Beach Mon., July 13, with carpooling from the Country Club, 11 a.m., picnic at 11:30 a.m. and tour of Cama Beach at 1 p.m. Members are asked to bring their own sandwich. Drinks and dessert can be purchased. There is no meeting or bridge.

Learn how to plant a rain garden Learn how to capture and filter rainwater by planting an attractive rain garden. Democrats host fire department Camano Island Democrats host Mike Ganz and Levon Yengoyan, chief and assistant chief of the Stanwood-Camano fire department. The two will update the community on new facilities projects, including some of the needs while projects are under construction, plus information on two levy measures on the Aug. 18 ballot. The meeting takes place Wed., July 8, 7 p.m., at the Camano Multipurpose Cener, 141 East Camano Dr. The public is welcome.
Yacht club has Sunday brunch Members and the public are invited to a brunch Sun., July 12, 9 a.m. to noon, at Camano Island Yacht Club. There is a cost. The menu includes bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, pancakes, French toast, fresh fruit, sweet rolls, juices, coffee and tea. "Please join us for a great meal in a relaxing setting overlooking Saratoga Passage," hosts say.
