Extend CIFR/ EMS levy on August 18

Dear Editor

The Camano Island Fire/ EMS levy ends this year and needs to be renewed. I cannot fathom a situation in which a community would not want quality fire and emergency services. So far, Camano Island has been fortunate to have a dedicated group of men and women devoted to the safety and security of its citizens.

If we are to continue such services the current levy needs to be extended. If it is not passed, Island residents will lose fire and EMS personnel and the services they provide. We only need 4,000 votes to extend the levy. We can do this!

I urge all registered voters on Camano Island to vote "yes" on Aug. 18. That yes vote may save your home or your life.

Norman W. Wilson, Ph.D. Camano Island
