Soapbox more than a race
Dear Editor: Imagine, kids spending special time with a parent, grandparent or mentor, learning "I'm important. I'm worth their time." Kids learning they have special abilities — mechanics, problem solving, perseverance — learning that they can make things with their hands — can actually build a race car! Full Story

Extend CIFR/ EMS levy on August 18
Dear Editor The Camano Island Fire/ EMS levy ends this year and needs to be renewed. I cannot fathom a situation in which a community would not want quality fire and emergency services. So far, Camano Island has been fortunate to have a dedicated group of men and women devoted to the safety and security of its citizens. Full Story
