EDWARD J. DONOVAN

Born 6- 23-24 in Erickson, Nebraska to Joseph and Nellie Gray Donovan. Passed away 6-24-09.

Edward was the oldest of seven children. He had two brothers and four sisters. The family moved to Yakima during the Great Depression. He was 85 when he died.

Ed joined the Navy and trained for submarine service during World War II. He served in the Pacific around the Sea of Japan. He went to Seattle University, where he studied dentistry but was not happy with that.

He found his wife (Marilyn) instead. They married in January 1951. They had three children, Greg, Elaine and Nancy.

Ed started in real estate after marriage but moved on to become a salesman for hardware and millwork, direct to the builders. He enjoyed his work. They lived in Seattle for a time. They moved to Bellevue for 18 years.

In 1975, they moved to Camano Island, where they lived for 28 years, eventually retiring to Smokey Point, Marysville.

Ed was a member of the Kirkland - Bellevue Elks Club, serving in the officers chairs. He loved to travel and visited almost all the United States.

Ed is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his three children, Greg and daughter-inlaw, Kathy, Elaine, Nancy, and son-in-law, Stephen; three grandchildren, Monique, Jeff and Patrick; and his three sisters, Margaret, Helen and Sister Lenora.

His other siblings passed on before him.

There will be no services. A memorial will be decided at a later date.
