Blood Drive at medical center

Puget Sound Blood Center urges community members to donate the "gift of life" at the July 8 blood drive, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and 1:15 - 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required by calling 1-800- 398-7888. The Skagit Valley Medical Center, Stanwood/Camano, is located at the west end of Stanwood. There is also screening to detect peripheral arterial disease, elevated cholesterol, for adults over age 18. Call 629-6481 to schedule an appointment; there is a cost, and screenings are held Tuesday mornings. A Certified Diabetes Education Program is offered through Skagit Valley Hospital; call 360-814-2699.
