Swimmers in Pasco

A formidable contingent of 17 girls and five boys participated in the first all-team travel swim meet May 29-31 in Pasco, WA, competing in a 50-meter outdoor pool.

The temperature was hot outside, and the Steelheads swimmers were hot inside the pool as well.

The team was led by Justin Murrell (14), who placed in the top six in five events, and Matt Roe (16), who placed in four events in his age group. Also placing were Karlie Rimat (9) in two events, and Tim Hammer (17), Katie Hammer (10), and Zanetta Uy (14) each placed in one event.

Other Steelhead participants who achieved personal time drops were: Kenzie Bell (17), Christina Garrett (17), Alisa Stang (16), Whitney Weinert (16), Maia Jenkins (15), Haley Wolhart (14), Allyson Berry (14), Hannah Iverson (13), Ellen Muldoon (13), and Madi Elsner (10).

Coaches said they were very proud of how well Devon Martinka (8), Katelyn Ware (10), Jordan Berry (10), Kevin English (10), Katy Kendrick (10), and Quinton Steere (12), swam in their first 50-meter competition.
