Young athletes make their mark

Results of the annual Hershey Youth Track and Field Meet held at Stanwood Stadium were recently released to the NEWS.
"Unfortunately we only had 65 athletes, which is fewer than we normally have," meet manager Paul Johnson noted, "but everyone had a good time and got an idea of what a track meet is like. Congratulations to all who competed, because as Jesse Owens used to say, 'Everyone's a winner,' not just those who made it to the awards stand."
For girls born 1999-2000:
50 Meters: 1st: Kyara Crabtree 8.4 seconds; T2nd: Shariah Wheeler 9.0; T2nd: Samantha Pierce 9.0; 3rd: Kendra Bottenberg 9.2.
100: 1st: Kyara Crabtree 16.4; 2nd: Sailor Delich 17.1; 3rd: Samantha Pierce 17.8.
