Deputy car burglarized, assault rifle stolen
Friday night a deputy living on Camano Island had his 2008 Dodge Charger patrol vehicle broken into, according to Island County Sheriff's Office Detective Ed Wallace. "The suspect pried open the door and removed a Panasonic CF-30 "Toughbook" lap top computer, a cell phone and a digital camera," said Wallace. Full Story

Vehicle vandalized, bad check received
Police in the city of Stanwood responded to the following recently: June 13, a 25-year-old Camano Island man was arrested on a warrant and taken to jail. June 15, paint was scratched on a vehicle parked in the 10200 block of 270th Street NW. Full Story

Marion Harland Allen (Al), of Stanwood, passed away with quiet dignity May 23, 2009. Much as he did everything in his life, it was on his own terms and in his own time. Al was born March 24, 1916 in Casey, IA. At 17, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and when old enough joined the Works Progress Administration (WPA) like his father. Full Story
