Prank caller nabbed and DUIs on the rise
Island County Sheriff's deputies on Camano Island responded to the following recently:
• Deputies arrested a 15- year-old boy for prank calling 911 May 20.
• A man living in the 2000 block of South Camano Drive reported $340 worth of electronics and cash stolen from his car June 1.
• A 16-year-old boy was arrested for stealing wine from a grocery store on Elger Bay Road May 15.
• Deputies responded to a domestic violence call on Gary Lane May 30. A 45-year-old woman was arrested for assault.
• A 46-year-old man living on Dallman Road was arrested for assaulting his wife May 27.
• A 53-year-old woman was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) on S. East Camano Drive May 28.
• A 60-year-old man was arrested for DUI on Short Road May 22.
• An 18-year-old man was arrested for DUI on SR 532 May 23.
• An 18-year-old man was arrested for DUI on SR 532 May 23.
• A 23-year-old man was cited for driving with a suspended license on SR 532 May 30.
• After deputies noticed a headlight was out on a car driving on N. East Camano Drive, a 26-year-old man was cited for driving with a suspended license May 21.
