150,000 chickens destroyed in barn fire

CAROL (HANCOCK) BERRING
Carol joined her Lord Jesus and lifelong love, Ralph, on June 4, 2009. She was born to George and Olga (Brandt) Hancock Dec. 25, 1920 in Stanwood. During her school years, she was a Girl Reserve, belonged to Nonette singing group, played basketball and had the lead in the senior play. She graduated in 1938 and still attended their class reunions. Full Story
TANYA E. STRATTON 1960 - 2009
Tanya Erps Stratton went home to be with her Lord Sat., June 6, 2009, after a valiant battle with cancer. Tanya was born May 5, 1960 in Bozeman, Montana to Floyd and Leilani Erps. She moved with her family to Lynnwood, WA in 1965 and on to Stanwood in 1973. She attended Stanwood High School, where she met her future husband, Donald Stratton. Full Story
Former newsman loses battle with cancer, dead at 68
Stan Strick, 68, of Camano Island, died from complications of cancer treatment Thurs., June 4, at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Strick was a retired executive editor of "The Herald," where he worked for 27 years before retiring in 2007. Full Story
