Sheriff hosts meeting to talk about sex offender
Island County Sheriff Mark Brown invites the public to an informational meeting to discuss a Level 2 registered sexual offender who will be living in the 1500 block of Lake Drive on Camano Island.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m., Tues., June 9 at the Lost Lake clubhouse, located at 1469 Lake Dr.
Adam Jacob Bye, 19, was convicted of indecent liberties in Skagit County in 2005. He has served his sentence and is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.
In October 2003, Bye, then 13, engaged a 5-year-old girl in sexual behavior and admitted to additional acts on other occasions.
Bye has additional convictions of residential burglary, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, criminal trespass, theft, eluding a police vehicle, hit and run, etc.
Participants at the meeting will learn about the state's sex offender and registration laws, how they can keep neighborhoods safe and have time to voice their concerns about local law enforcement issues.
