Bicycles, motorcycles, vintage cars and other vehicles took to Camano Hill Road Saturdaymorning in a rally to recognize the reconstruction of 3.5 miles of the road. The project wasthe largest Island County has done in terms of dollars and in length, said Randy Brackett,assistant county engineer. It was finished $500,000 under budget and two weeks earlierthan expected. Funds for the project included about $1 million from the state County RoadAdministration Board, $4.7 million of Island County road funds and about $2 million fromSnohomish County Public Utility District. The road was widened in places and repaved,turn lanes were added and safety was improved, including the shoulders.
