GEORGE M. JENSEN

George Martin Jensen, 91, a resident of Camano Island, passed away at Providence Hospital Thurs., May 29, 2009.

George was born in Mount Vernon April 22, 1918, the son of Marie and Christian Jensen. He grew up in Mount Vernon, then moved to Camano Island in 1959. He worked at Boeing as an aerospace machinist, retiring in August 1993.

He served in the U.S. Army as a seaman December 1942 to December 1945.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Ila Mae Jensen.

Survivors are daughters, Sandy Hooper (Bartlett) and Lucinda Bergstrom; son, Danny Bergstrom; grandchildren Stacey, Jacque, John Henry; and great-grandchildren, Rozalynn, Rex and Jennifer.

He enjoyed his life on Camano, fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed cards and was a very worthy cribbage opponent.

His family has many fond memories of George's kindness and loving ways. He lived a full and happy life.

There are no services planned.
