Break-ins attempted at local businesses
Police in the city of Stanwood responded to the following recently:
May 25, unknown suspect(s) pried off door latches to a business in the 9000 block of 271st Street NW.
May 26, a business in the 9500 block of 271st Street NW reported an attempt was made to gain access to the building, but no entry was made.
May 21, a driver failed to negotiate a turn at 70th Avenue/ 280th Street NW, left the roadway, ran over a small tree and eventually reentered the roadway.
May 22, a 46-year-old Stanwood woman attempted to fill an altered prescription in the 26800 block of 88th Avenue NW.
May 24, a 23-year-old Camano Island woman reported the theft of her purse from the 27000 block of 92nd Avenue NW.
May 26, a video hard drive was stolen from a school bus parked in the 9100 block of 272nd Street NW.
May 26, a resident of the 28000 block of 85th Drive NW reported fraudulent charges on his bank accounts.
May 26, a vehicle parked in the 27000 block of 99th Avenue NW was damaged by an unknown hit-and-run driver.
May 27, a driver in the 9200 block of SR 532 fell asleep at the wheel and crossed the centerline, continued off the side of the roadway without slowing and collided with a tree.
May 27, a portable PlayStation was stolen from the 9700 block of 271st Street NW.
May 28, a PlayStation and jewelry were stolen from lockers and classrooms in the 7400 block of 271st Street NW sometime within the last week.
