Be patient, road benefits to us are on the way
Dear Editor: For many months now, we have been reading about the big construction project to replace the Mark Clark Bridge and the improvements to Highway 532. Lots of concerns, understandably. On May 18, Stanwood even made the front page of the Everett Herald: "Stanwood Anxious Over Road Project." Anxious? The project is much needed and long overdue. Full Story
Paramedics did a great job!
Dear Editor: My husband and I recently had the need to call 911 and request the services of the paramedics. We were very impressed with the service we received. Our call was handled in a very professional manner. The dispatcher was very knowledgeable, and help was on the way immediately. Full Story

Field trip was very educational
Dear Editor: On May 11-12, the voices of delighted children rang though the forest and on the beach at Camano Island State Park. The occasion was 2009 Education Days, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks (FOCIP), a field trip to Camano Island State Park for 200 second grade students from Stanwood, Utsalady, and Elger Bay elementary schools.
