Camano Gateway ordinance remains in limbo
Island County Board of Commissioners reaffirmed an existing interim control on development in Camano's gateway. Septic inspection deadline approaches
As the inspection deadline in Island County for pressure septic systems approaches on July 1, officials are trying to pave the way for the new state-mandated program. Those actions included creating a $62 filing fee for septic inspections to help cover the cost of the program, said Aaron Henderson, county environmental health director. Full Story
Benefit set for crash victim
At 2 p.m. Sat., May 30, a benefit will be held at South Camano Grange for island resident Harold Cox, who was in a near-fatal crash two weeks ago. He was airlifted to Harborview Trauma Center. Full Story
