Fishing report
Area 8.1 and 8.2: Lingcod are being caught. Though results are mixed, it is still worth getting out there. Onamac and the head are both producing fish. Live bait works great, if you can get it, or 4- to 6-ounce leadhead with a twintail will also work well. Also, try Possession or Partridge Point.
Halibut fishing is going very well. Many customers have reported limits ranging from 24 to 59 pounds. Black Label herring, glow or white squids and octopus will land you fish at Partridge and Hein Bank
Lake Sixteen continues to provide anglers with pan-sized trout. Trolling Wooly Buggers in brown, with or without a bead head is the most successful right now.
The Skagit River will open June 1 - July 15 for hatchery Chinook. Expect a lot of fishing pressure on the river and banks. Large Kwikfish wrapped with sardine/herring, float/egg combos and large spoons will be the most popular methods to hook your four-fish limit (only two may be adults). Open from Highway 530 bridge to the Cascade River.
Local lakes continue to be stocked by WDFW, including Pass, Vogler, Ketchum and Goodwin.
