Youth Art Festival poster contest winners announced
Reanne Lee won first place for this entry for the Youth Arts Festival; Kelsey Dingman won second place and Erling Anderson won third place. The Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center announced the winners of the 11th Annual Youth Art Festival poster contest.
"It was a tough decision for our volunteers and staff to decide on just the top three winners this year, as we had so many beautiful entries," said Christie Connors, executive director.
First place prize of $100 went to Reanne Lee, 10th-grader at Stanwood High School. The poster will be the advertising piece for the festival. Lee's submission is a bright graphic arts creation that features an artist's palette and brush in the phrase "11th Annual."
Last year, Lee received a Gold Key Award from the Arts Council of Snohomish County at the Regional Scholarship Art Awards for her colored pencil drawing of "Sitting Bird."
Second place of $50 went to Kelsey Dingman, 11th grader at Stanwood High School, for her colored pencil design. Third place of $25 went to Erling Anderson, fifth-grade homeschool student, for his painting.

All artwork submitted for the poster contest will be featured along with other display art at the Youth Arts Festival, a free family event, held May 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Stanwood Middle School cafeteria.
The festival is sponsored by the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center, which offers programs, classes and resources to community members of all ages.
